Thanks for visiting my web site, dedicated to the wildlife and scenery of Australia and surrounds. It is a work in progress, so please bear with me as I add my back catalogue of images. If you would like to use or purchase an image from me please contact me via the email address on this page.

I began taking photos with a horrible 35mm camera on family holidays, and was fascinated with trying to capture images of waves crashing over the rocks on headlands around Merimbula and Eden in southern NSW.  Around the same time I started developing my interest in Australian birds.  It wasn't until my mid-20's before my love of birds and photography really took off, and as they say in the classics the rest is history.

My first serious setup was a Canon 20D, paired not long after with a 100-400mm IS lens (affectionately known as the 'dust pump').  Since then I've used many Canon bodies and lenses, including the 50D, 7D, 1D Mark IV, 90D and the 1DX Mark II.  I've just made the leap to mirrorless, and currently use the Canon R5.  For wildlife it is almost always stuck on the 500mm f/4 IS with a 1.4x TC.

Anyway, have a look around and I hope you like what you see.
Cheers, Dean
